When I heard that a new crepe restaurant opened 15 minutes away from my house, I was ecstatic. I am a huge crepe fan, so to have a creperie so close to home was fantastic. Luckily, I have found my new favorite crepe place, Little Creperie, located at 102 S. Prospect Ave., Clarendon Hills.

When you first walk in, the delicious smell of crepes overwhelms you and the bright, vibrant blue colors invite you. Although the restaurant is a bit cozy, with only a few bar-top tables, it added a nice, quaint charm to the place. The menu is written on a chalkboard, and multiple European or food related items line shelves throughout the restaurant. Little Creperie has a homey charm that really enhanced my experience. The staff was beyond helpful and helped me decide which crepe to choose.

Little Creperie has 23 pre-made sweet and savory options, as well as an endless amount of possibilities with a “make-your-own” crepe option. All crepes range from $5 to $9, and the make-your-own crepes start at $5 with each topping costing either $0.75 to $1. The crepes were very reasonably priced, considering each one of them was a full and filling meal. You can stay inside and eat your freshly made crepe, take it to go or when the weather allows it, they have a few patio tables in the front.

I tried the “Strawberry Suzzette” ($8) crepe which was filled with homemade glazed strawberries, their secret filling, and it was topped with whipped cream, strawberries and a cookie straw with a dusting of powdered sugar. It was absolutely amazing. The filling oozed out of the perfectly thin crepe and melted in my mouth. The strawberries were soft and sweet, but yet not overly sweet. It was the perfect combination.

My friend ordered the “Nutella Fella” ($7) crepe, which was filled with Nutella, crushed cookies and bananas. I already knew that Nutella and bananas together are perfect, but the added touch of the crushed cookies elevated the crepe to an extreme level of awesomeness.

We also ordered the “Razzle Dazzle” ($8) crepe. It was filled with Ghirardelli chocolate chips, raspberries, their homemade secret filling and topped with drizzled chocolate. Once again, this crepe impressed me. The sweet raspberry mixed with melted chocolate chips was a perfect combo. The complementary flavors exploded in my mouth and left me wanting more. Although we didn’t try any of the savory crepes, the people at the table next to us had a savory crepe and had nothing but positive things to say about it.

Bottom Line: Little Creperie impressed me in every and any aspect that they could. With reasonable prices, delicious crepes and a charming and quaint atmosphere, it’s definitely worth the trip.
