Melinda Edwards has been a part of the LT community for over 40 years. Having graduated in 1982, she began her career in the Business Office at LT soon after.

Edwards started out working for LT during her senior year, becoming a cornerstone of the LT workforce just after graduating. After dedicating nine years to the Business Office, she moved to the AP Office where she worked for another eight years. Edwards also worked as a paraprofessional for a year before switching to the Main Office, where she has worked since 1999.

“You always want to be in a place where the school is trying to improve, and I think LT has done that over the years,” Edwards said.

Despite not participating in activities while attending LT as a student, she has made it her mission to be involved in a variety of events during her time working, Edwards said.

“When I went here I didn’t go to any of the games, I didn’t go to the dances, I didn’t even attend prom,” she said. “But when I became a full-time faculty member I got involved in working football, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, selling tickets, and scoring points.”

Edwards, a beloved faculty member, has spent an impressive 44 years dedicated to the LT community, going above and beyond to contribute to the wellbeing of both students and staff.

“It’s interesting to see how things change, how the school changes, and it’s changing for the better,” Edwards said. “It’s nice to sit back and get to see how things evolve.”
