The holiday season is here, and so are Trader Joe’s festive treats! Trader Joe’s has one of the best selections of seasonal treats, as they are creative, flavorful, and include a wide range of options. From returning fan favorites to new peppermint-packed snacks, Trader Joe’s has it all!
When I went to Trader Joe’s, I bought four of their holiday items. The first dessert I tried was the peppermint pretzel slims, which were my favorite ($3.49). They had a great peppermint flavor and the perfect texture. I loved the crunch of the pretzel, as well as the texture created from the bits of candy cane on top. 5/5 paws.
Next, I tried the dark chocolate-covered peppermint Joe-Joe’s. ($4.80). I thought I would like them because I love their original Joe-Joe’s. However, these were a major disappointment. They lacked flavor, and the chocolate-to-frosting ratio was too high. I could barely taste the Joe-Joe’s cookie or any peppermint flavor. However, I did think the cookie looked appealing, and I liked the crushed candy cane on top. 2/5 paws.
Then I ate the candy cane baton wafer cookies ($1.99). These looked very appetizing, with the festive wafer and peppermint creme inside. I had high hopes for these cookies, but I was disappointed. The peppermint creme tasted artificial, and the overall flavor of the cookie was underwhelming. However, the texture of the cookie was good, with the wafer providing a nice crunch and the creme being soft. 3/5 paws.
Lastly, the jingle jangle mix was great ($9.99). If you love chocolate, you will enjoy this mix. It has milk and dark chocolate-covered pretzels, dark chocolate-covered popcorn, dark chocolate-covered Joe-Joe’s cookie pieces, milk chocolate gems, and milk and dark chocolate mini peanut butter cups. I loved the variety of flavors and overall goodies in this mix. It’s a great sweet treat to snack on. 5/5 paws.
Through its holiday treats, festive items, and spirited workers, Trader Joe’s is definitely knocking out the competition when it comes to holiday spirit. If you go to Trader Joe’s, I would skip the chocolate-covered Joe-Joe’s and wafer cookies. However, make sure to grab the peppermint pretzel slims and jingle jangle mix. Trader Joe’s is located on 25 N. LaGrange Rd. and is open from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Make sure to go before it’s too late!
