Since the Sept. 22 issue of the LION Newspaper, alumnus Jake Elliott ‘13 become a recognized name throughout the NFL. The Sunday after the issue, Elliott broke the Philadelphia Eagles record for longest field goal kicked at 61 yards on Sept. 24 to win the game. Now, he is on the nation’s biggest stage competing in Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, Minn. against the New England Patriots on Feb. 4. In the NFC championship game on Jan. 21, he accounted for eight of the 38 points for the Eagles as the team went on the defeat the Minnesota Vikings 38-7.
