Harry Styles dropped his fourth album, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,” on March 6, 2026, after an incredibly stretched out build-up. Styles began hinting at this album shortly after his prior album, “Harry’s House,” which was released in May of 2022. He was spotted throughout 2024 visiting recording studios in London, further fueling speculation that recording had begun.
So far, people have had very positive reactions to the upbeat tempo and the excitement of Styles’ return after going nearly four years without releasing music. Due to his interactive marketing, fans were very anticipant of the release date.
Overall, I enjoyed the casualness and relaxing quality that this album maintained. Fans can clearly recognize Styles’ confidence, and honestly, it was much better than I expected. As a subpar fan, I didn’t have especially high expectations. Jumping in, I focused my entire attention on listening to every single detail; however, I was barely able to finish.
The most popular song, the best of the album, is “American Girls,” which I’m sure you’ve heard in any shopping center in the country by now. The song focuses on Styles’ experiences of watching his friends getting married and searching for fulfillment. Despite the upbeat tempo, the song captures the loneliness of singlehood and the risks that come with commitment. Unfortunately, this was one of the few songs to leave an impression on me.
I expected the music to be disco, exciting, a little bit more flashy, and memorable. As I went on, each song blurred together, and I struggled to even listen. This wasn’t helped by the fact that at times Styles’ lyrics were unintelligible. I quickly lost interest, and for such a short album, only 12 songs, this was shocking.
Now that I’m past the first listen and have heard some of the songs in a new context, songs like “Are You Listening Yet” and “Aperture” have grown on me. With catchy lyrics and mesmerizing tempo, these songs have managed to get stuck in my head. Unfortunately, though, this album fits among most of his music for me, background music.
