A soothing aroma of lemongrass and lavender essential oils greeted me as I walked down a tastefully decorated path into Luxxe Honor. The store had a modern appeal on the inside, with toned colors and flooring. Located on 311 W Hillgrove Ave. in La Grange, Luxxe Honor is an everyday wellness center. 

I visited on a calm Friday afternoon, with only one other customer in the store with me. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The store was brightly lit and charmingly decorated. It seemed small, but towards the back it has a series of rooms for a variety of different services, such as exercise classes and massages. 

All sorts of well-being products are offered: silk pillow cases, jewelry, candles and even organic deodorant. However, the star of the show is the aromatherapy products. Dozens of different kinds of essential oils are available to purchase, and if one isn’t up to your standards, you can make your own. My favorite aspect is their essential oil bar, where you have the option of crafting your very own essential oil mixture from their house made oils. Every product is natural, non-toxic, and made by Luxxe. The jewelry is created by local artists. 

However, the prices are quite expensive. I was shocked to learn that a candle that fit in my palm was $12, and hand soap cost $7. But, some may argue it is the price to pay for all housemade, natural and nontoxic products. 

Luxxe not only offers a variety of products and gift sets, but their store goes well beyond what meets the eye. They also offer services, such as massages ($85), facials ($85), waxes ($15-$70), exercise classes and workshops such as yoga or meditation ($18 per class). You can sign up for their membership or their wellness subscription box, both $69 per month. 

Overall, I think you get what you pay for, and the elevated prices reflect the high quality of the products and professional services. The philosophy that Luxxe stands by, “internal purity radiates external beauty,” is just what La Grange needs.
