Scholastic Bowl looks to improve

The LT Scholastic Bowl Team had its first competition on Wednesday, Nov. 5, t York High School.  At the meet, the team lost both of its matchups, the first against Downers Grove South, and the second against York.

“It was a disappointment, but we’re still trying to figure out how to function after last year’s seniors left,” team member Tim Mikulski ‘17 said. “We are a young team but we’re definitely going to pick it up as the season goes on.”

Last year’s varsity Scholastic Bowl Team consisted largely of seniors, but, after their departure, is now made up of only three upperclassmen, Mikulski, Drew Cushing ‘16 and Conor Sheldon ‘17. But two underclassmen, Alexander Kuptel ‘18 and Tim Houston ‘18, are returning varsity members and look to improve their skills as well.

Scholastic Bowl is coached by Eric Bjornstad and Maria Ricker and meets on Mondays after school at South Campus. Its next meet is Thursday, Nov. 19 at Leyden High School.
